Do I have to contact my current long distance provider in order to change to your service ? No. When you sign up with us we will contact your local telephone company to let them know to switch your long distance to our service. Unless you have a PIC freeze on your account, you do not have to contact anyone. We take care of everything for you. How much does it cost to sign up ? There is no fee to sign up for our service. However, your local telephone company sometimes charges a small one time fee to swap your long distance carrier, generally this is only a couple of dollars. Do I have to sign a contract ? What if I don't like it ? There are no contracts to sign and no minimum term usage agreements. Just sign up today, try us out and start saving money. If for some reason you don't like our service (why wouldn't you like to save money while getting the best quality long distance?), you can swap back at any time. When can I start saving money with your long distance plan ? It usually takes 5-7 business days to actually swap from your current long distance carrier to the carrier you select from our plans. To verify that you are on your new service, you may call 1-700-555-4141 (toll free call), the recording would say something like "Thank you for choosing ___________ communications". You may even want to call now to see who your current long distance carrier is. To see who your intrastate or intra-lata long distance carrier is, call 1-(area code)-700-4141. How do I place a call using your service ? With our 1+ carriers such as Unitel, TTI, Opex, CogniWorld and PNG all you have to do is pick up your phone and dial 1, the area code and phone number. There are no extra numbers to dial or PINs to remember. Is this just an introductory rate ? No. These are our rates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. You don't have to worry about the time of day or the day of the week to save money with our low rates. What if I don't use much long distance ? Even if you only use a little long distance each month, why should you pay high monthly fees with other carriers plans just to have the privilege of getting low rates when you do call. How will I be billed ? With most of our carriers, such as Unitel, you will receive a separate bill in the mail each month which will show all your long distance calls in one simple bill. What is a PIC freeze ? A PIC freeze prevents anyone from changing your long distance carrier without your approval. In order to place or remove a PIC freeze on your phone line you must call your local telephone service provider and request it. This is generally a free service. Usually they will ask you for a password so only you will be able to change the PIC freeze status in the future. Once you change to our service, it is a good idea to place a PIC freeze on your line to prevent being slammed to a higher rate carrier without your knowledge. What is slamming and how do I prevent it ? Slamming is someone changing your long distance carrier without your approval. To prevent slamming, you should put a PIC freeze on your telephone line. |
